About/Contact
Our mission is to celebrate fathers and all gay men through fellowship and support.
Our focus is to embrace, affirm, and improve ourselves as gay fathers and men; to socialize and share the unique and universal joys, strengths, and challenges that we face as gay fathers in Utah. Activities include: Monthly get-togethers on the First Sunday of each month at 7:30 p.m, Future Fathers events such as adoption, surrogacy, and IVF information clinics, legal nights where we discuss issues pertaining to various aspects of gay fatherhood, and other social gatherings to uplift and support each other.
Monthly meetings are held at home in the Salt Lake Valley on the first Sunday of each month. As a group we have discussions about what it means to be a gay father, current issues group members may be facing, helpful suggestions, venting, personal therapeutic or legal recommendations, etc. Details of these events are listed on our “Events” page.
RESPECT for all members is key in our group, regardless of where we each may be on our own personal journeys–single, committed to our opposite-gender or same-gender spouses/partners, divorced, separated, or widowered; our children and grandchildren are all ages; some of us may not yet be fathers; some are atheists or agnostics, others are spiritual or religious from a variety of backgrounds (Catholic, LDS, UU, Jewish, Baptist, etc); our skin color may be as varied as the countries we originally come from. So long as the attitude is one of respect and value for others in the group, all are welcome.
Because group members come from a variety of different backgrounds and levels of openness about their sexual orientations within their external relationships, and because the social, familial, and vocational landscape within Utah is not always understanding of being gay or bisexual, a strong requirement of our group is to respect the confidentiality of each member. Prior to participating in group discussion, we ask everyone to agree to respecting the privacy of what is shared in order to maintain a safe space in which all can share our struggles and find solutions that may work for each of us, individually.
We hope to have fun activities that can improve our friendships and strengthen our our abilities as fathers and sons, brothers and uncles that are “always becoming, always complete.”
